What is the biopsy process?
Before any biopsy, a radiologist must review your previous scan images and the diagnostic report that recommended the biopsy. This determines feasibility and the approach required.
- If you have a prior CT scan: email your images and report to hello@primedicalja.com or radiology@primedicalja.com
- If no prior CT exists: you will first need a CT scan, which the radiologist will review before scheduling the biopsy
- Biopsy results typically take 3–4 weeks
- Additional charges may apply after the radiologist’s review

Preparing for Your Scan
How do I prepare for an Abdominal Ultrasound?
Fast for 8 to 12 hours before your appointment — avoid all food and drinks. Food and liquids in the stomach can obscure the structures being examined.
How do I prepare for a Pelvic Ultrasound?
Drink 32 oz (946 ml) of water — approximately two regular bottles — at least one hour before your appointment. Do not empty your bladder until after the exam is complete.
How do I prepare for a CT Scan (with IV contrast)?
Do not eat or drink anything except water for 6 hours before your appointment. Patients aged 50 or younger with no chronic illnesses do not need a BUN and Creatinine blood test before IV contrast.
How do I prepare for a CT KUB / Urogram?
- Do not eat or drink anything for 4 hours before your appointment
- Drink 32 oz (946 ml) of water 1 hour before your exam
- Do not empty your bladder until after the exam
What should I know before an MRI?
When MRI services resume, please follow these guidelines:
- Remove all metal objects: jewellery, accessories, and electronics
- Notify us of any implants, pacemakers, or medical devices
- Wear metal-free clothing; a gown may be provided
- Share your full medical history, including any tattoos
- Inform us if you are or may be pregnant
- Let us know if you experience claustrophobia or anxiety
- Arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment
How do I prepare for Fluoroscopy (Barium Meal / Enema)?
Barium Meal / Swallow: Avoid all food for at least 8 hours before the exam.
Barium Enema requires multi-day preparation:
- 3 days before: Light liquid diet — juices, soups, porridge (no solid food)
- 2 days before: Take a Dulcolax 10 mg tablet
- 1 day before: Take a Dulcolax 10 mg tablet; one dose of Epsom salt at 12 noon and another at 6 pm; fluids only for 12 hours
- Stay well hydrated to prevent dehydration
Reports & Results
How long does it take to receive my radiology report?
Turnaround time depends on the service tier you select at the time of your scan:
